how to connect with SSH
Connecting to Your O2OHost Package via SSH on WindowsIf you are familiar with the command line interface, you can connect to your O2OHost hosting package via SSH. Follow these steps to set up and connect using PuTTY:
1. Download and Install PuTTY- Download PuTTY from the official site and install it on your Windows machine.
- Open PuTTY Key Generator (PuTTYgen) on your computer.
- Click Generate and move your mouse around in the gray box to generate randomness. This will create a public key.
- Enter a passphrase (password) for the key. This passphrase will be required when connecting via SSH.
- Click Save private key to save the private key file with a name of your choice. This file will be used in PuTTY for authentication.
- Log in to your O2OHost control panel at cp.O2OHost.in.
- Navigate to Manage Hosting and select the hosting package for which you want SSH access.
- Click on SSH Access under the Security section.
- Copy the public key generated by PuTTYgen and paste it into the Public Key box. A handle will be generated automatically. Click Add Public Key to apply the key.
- Open PuTTY.
- In the left-hand menu, expand SSH and select Auth.
- Click Browse and select the private key file you saved earlier.
- Go back to the Session category in PuTTY.
- Enter ssh.gb.stackcp.com in the Host Name field.
- Click Open to start the SSH session.
- When prompted, log in with your domain (e.g., domain.co.uk).
- Enter the passphrase you set during key generation.
You should now be connected to your hosting package via SSH. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please consult the PuTTY documentation or contact O2OHost support.
